Trick or treat? Halloween becomes a Horror Show for Antonio Conte last night and becomes the sanctification of Eusebio Di Francesco today, on All Saints Day. Roma overpowered the Blues on a magical evening, where again the giallorossi overturned all odds and destroyed Conte’s team, now fighting to keep his job against Manchester United this coming weekend.
It was a wonderful Roma display in front of 55,000 spectators, these days like a sell-out; the team showed character with Stephan El Sharaawy hero of the night, in stunning shape, who marks two more fantastic goals after that against Bologna. It was a whole team showdown, with an immense Perotti on the left wing that ended the match with a powerful runner; a generous Dzeko fighting alone the Chelsea backend; the midfield led by Daniele De Rossi and a solid defense that does not give in anything in the hands of Commander Fazio.
The evening ends with the news of another unexpected draw by Atletico’s home game with Qarabag, which reinforces Roma win 1-2 in Baku, so much criticized. There are no more easy teams in the Champions League. Roma is incredibly ahead in the group, qualifying is now a step away when everyone, including us, has given little chances initially. A warning for us all.
On Sunday we go to Florence, no big heads please, the matches are all to be played and won in the field. Concentration, desire and determination, all united for one goal. Come on Roma!
