Roma 0-2 Torino ‘Not so Di Bello’

This game was to catapult Roma towards the very top, the crossroads of the season, with the clashes with Juve and Lazio very near. A defeat that is very bad for the morale and the table. Against a Torino team who had not won in Rome for 13 years, without 5 players, with 5 goals conceded against Spal and Verona. Lots of regrets for yet another stop to the famous leap forward.

And to say that the approach had been good in the first 20 minutes. We had a good start putting pressure on the Granatas without finding the goal. But then Torino took courage, to put the Giallorossi defense in difficulty, risking every time Belotti and co. appeared near Pau Lopez. Roma shot 30 times against 12, true but mostly off target, the quality was lacking, from Dzeko to Zaniolo, to Pellegrini. And the goal opportunity to equalise, Mkhitaryan’s sensational misfire. Defensive, everyone was quite bad, Florenzi in particular on the occasion of the goal of the Gallo Belotti. Diawara and Perotti were Roma’s best.

But if Roma lost mainly because of his own mistakes, the referee is certainly responsible for having “driven” the defeat. Belotti’s goal comes 1 minute after the end of the injury time at the end of the first half. Izzo was sent off for a sensational handball that deserved the second yellow card, with 15 minutes left to play. The Var in favour of Torino clearly breaks a sensational run by Zaniolo directed on goal. Not to mention the other yellow cards.

Roma did not play well but if the referee gave us “ours” maybe we could also talk about another final result. But I don’t give up. As if nothing had happened, we must get up immediately. Head to Juve!
